Job Title: FL-DEM-FEMA Event Closeout Team-Financial Specialist

Job Description:

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting in the closeout of grants and financial activities as directed.
• Reconciling financial data, including expenditures and reports.
• Analyzing data for accuracy and completeness.
• Managing correspondence and documentation related to disaster closeouts.
• Scanning and uploading documents to appropriate systems.
• Archiving files according to established procedures and timelines.
• Performing final inspections for project closeout.
• Serving as a liaison between the Subrecipient and the Division, offering technical, fiscal, and grant management support.
• Providing technical assistance to state and local governments on grants, project closeouts, and payments.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

• Proficiency in English.
• Strong working relationships with others.
• Effective problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other database/spreadsheet software, including PowerPoint (minimum 2 years).
• Knowledge of accounting and auditing principles and procedures (minimum 1 year).
• Experience in managing contracts/grants and preparing funding agreements (minimum 1 year).
• Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret financial data for contracts/grants (minimum 1 year).
• Understanding of policies and procedures related to contracts/grants and payment processing.
• Experience with FEMA Public Assistance Grant Programs or Disaster Management (highly desired).

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $15.00 - $19.00 per hour
